Putting the ring
together...
Lay the three pieces of your
Signature Tree Ring on a flat surface, like a driveway or
sidewalk or patio. Position the pieces to form a circle,
and then simply snap the ends together.
Hint: For ease of installing around the trunk of a
tree or a lamppost, leave one seam unhooked, and then
slightly twist the ends away from each other creating an
opening. |
Closing the gap...
Once you’ve slipped the ring
around the tree, you can easily snap the two ends together. |
|
Marking
the area around the ring...
Once you’ve determined where
your Signature Tree Ring will sit, use a spade or shovel to
mark the area of turf / sod to be removed.

Clearing the area around the tree...
Being careful not to damage the
root mass or the tree trunk, thoroughly remove the sod
within the area marked in step 2. |
Placing the ground
cover...
Cut your weed block cloth
slightly larger than the inner diameter of the ring. Cut a
piece out of the center to match the diameter of your tree,
and make a cut from the outside edge to this new center
hole. This opening will allow you to set it nicely around
the tree.
Tuck the ground cloth under the inside edge of the tree ring
for a nice clean look. |
|
Smoothing the ground...
Now that you have the sod
removed, smooth (level) the earth below, removing any large
rocks or other debris. A piece of scrap lumber comes in
handy for this. |
Filling the ring...
Using a quality mulch, beauty
bark, or decorative rock, fill the ring to just below the
top edge. This will help keep the fill within the ring and
out of your yard. |
|
Placing the ring...
Slip your
Signature Tree Ring around the trunk of your tree and
position it within the area cleared of sod, making certain
that it is sitting flat and level on the ground. |
Finishing up...
Smooth out your fill, put away
your tools, and treat yourself to a nice cold beverage.
